Thanks James, you've just made my point for me. The way the world works (according to Trent Lott and the big money boys who have set up and abused a campaign financing system that is completely out of control) is only the way it works because of screwed up rules and a system they put in place. I'm saying change it back to the democracy it ought to be, where your vote and mine counts more than the big bucks gathered from the quick phone call. This applies to the Democrats who make their laws more based on contributions than on voters' needs too.

Of course small businessmen fight regulations, and I'm saying there may need to be a more moderate approach to applying them on the small companies than on the large companies - not elimination of critical regulations, but easing on the less critical ones that won't have huge negative implications if not applied. The large companies cannot only afford compliance more easily in most cases, but their non-compliance tends to negatively affect a lot more people, and they have the resources to bully those who oppose their abuses.
