The only way those options will happen is by government subsidy. Yes - if you want someone else to pay the bills for you they will be a great bargain and consumed in excess. The old model will work - until demand exceeds supply. If supply was not restricted - cost would be low in a free market. The onset of green power has broken the old model. Nuclear - the greens took care of that. Congrats to them and their success - may their lights go off first.

You question natural gas - it is the only thing that can be easlity permitted AND quickly built. There is no shortage of LNG - it can be cheap and green. You just need the permits.
