Zeuspaul:

Wouldn't you say that natural gas is a cleaner burning fuel more favored by environmentalists opposed to coal and oil burners causing acid rain?

I consider myself an environmentalist having spent so much pleasurable time pursuing fish and game in natural habitat. But I also think that nuclear plants may have taken a bum rap since Three Mile Island 30 years ago? There is a case for clean nuclear power which both France and Israel have proven avoiding global warming only if we can find the nerve to store the spent fuel rods. Besides Nuclear plants located on the sea coast can be two phase in that they can be used to desalinate seawater - an agri-benefit missed when the Diablo Canyon plant was built in California.

Maybe Bush, who will swing the pendulum back a bit, will force some new compromises upon old misconceptions as we learn more and negotiate changes in the universe we inhabit?
Even though some may think he's starting from a negtive viewpoint, a new debate may occur that will be useful.
