FIGHT NOTES FROM SECONDSOUT.COM

Round 1
- Welcome to the Secondsout.com live scorecard for the vacant IBO Featherweight title fight between Naseem Hamed and Marco Antonio Barrera.
- Naseem Hamed and Marco Antonia Barrera are due in the ring at 21:30 Las Vegas time (4:30am UK).
- Both Hamed and Barrera have arrived at the arena. Naz looking relaxed, Barrera more thoughtful.
- A stone faced Barrera getting hands wrapped.
- Hamed v Barrera up next!
- Great atmosphere building at the MGM Grand!
- Fighters told 5 minutes to ring walks.
- Atmosphere reaching boiling point!
- Jimmy Lennon about to introduce fighters into arena.
- There is some sort of delay occuring, Barrera not yet in the arena.
- Delay due to Hamed requiring hands to be re-wrapped.
- Is this a power play by the Prince to cause last minute nerves in Barrera?
- An impatient Barrera pacing his dressing room.
- Naz finally putting gloves back on.
- The delay certainly appears to be a ploy by Hamed to rile Barrera who has been ready for 10 minutes.

- Three jabs by Hamed.
- Naseem turning on the speed.
- Hamed connected again.
- Barrera using 7 inch reach advantage well - big Barrera left hook.
- Good Hamed hook to body.
- Good right from Barrera - Hamed so open.
- Hamed hands so low he really is playing with fire

Round 4
- Hamed is not switch hitting.
- Right counter to the body by Barrera.
- Hamed staggered by right!
- Still the Prince will not put up a guard.
- Hamed has not dented Barrera yet.
- Hamed waiting, not working for chances.
- Hamed looking almost hesitant.
- Another Barrera left.

Round 5
- Barrera has excellent guard.
- Right hook by Hamed.
- Hamed looking for single shots.
- Its become a chess match of jabs.
- Barrera beckons Hamed on.

Round 6
- Hamed goes orthodox
- Hamed avoiding more punches now.
- Right hand by Barrera.
- Neither fighter is making the other work.
- Big left bounces of Hameds chin.
- Hamed cannot land his bombs.
- Hamed back to southpaw

Round 7
- Hamed needs to find another gear if he is to win.
- Better jabbing from Hamed - hurting Barrera for the first time.
- Big left from Hamed - he smiles and Barrera shrugs.
- Exchange hard shots.
- Hamed getting jabbed but won't stop coming forward.
- Two great jabs from Hamed - Hamed loosening up.
- Interestingly Hamed trying to force Barrera into a brawl

Round 8
- Good 1-2 from Barrera.
- Why isn't Barrera forcing the pace?
- Two big lefts from Hamed down the pipe.
- Hamed hurt - staggered again

Round 9
- Hamed has to win these four rounds clearly to make sure.
- Left hook by Barrera.
- Hamed still looking for one shot.
- Good left down the pipe from Hamed - and another.
- Hamed coming forward more, will that impress the American judges?
- Left hook from Barrera.
- Hamed absolutely all over the place after arcing left hook.

Round 10
- We think Hamed needs a knockout to avoid his first ever defeat.
- Hamed three punch combination.

Round 11
- Hamed seems to hurt Barrera again, Hamed staggered by left hook
- Hamed hands down by his side - looking desperate
- Barrera looking confidant - walking through Hamed
- Barrera truly looks like on of the modern greats
- Another Barrera right - Hamed rocked heavily
- Hamed may not finish on his feet
- Barrera is the puncher in this fight

Round 12
- Barrera looking for the stoppage - he may get it
- Big left from Hamed but it isn't enough
- Hamed desperately coming forward
- One point of Barrera for wrestling
- FINAL BELL - Barrera raises hands, Hamed does not
