The January-February final orgy of consumer spending will prove to be the last hurrah. Any good sources of the last several weeks out there?

The rout in Madison Ave. ad spending in February suggests the retail trade is starting to see a poor payoff.

I wonder when the time cutoff is used on these February consumer spending numbers. My guess is that the bottom fell out about in line with the rollover of the S&P and NASDAQ in mid-Feb.
