rudedog, RE: as a former nerdy engineer myself, I have found it increasingly difficult to make any kind of design tradeoff argument on technical terms to business types.

There are many business types that have to be trained in advanced math far in excess of the engineers--and are at a minimum equally as nerdy.

None of them ever go into marketing, though. Thus, although it may just be sematics to you, I'd much prefer a substitution of the phrase "marketing types" for your use of the phrase "business types".
