Am I too dense or are people just overlooking good news?

I remember reading the past week that AMAT and LRCX were selling dry etch systems at 17.5% growth rate this year after growing 70.2% last year. Slower growth, but still a growing market.

AND

IC Insights boosted its outlook for growth next year from 9% to 18%.

Maybe I just look to be bullish under every rock?

but then again, back when we saw a P/S ratio of 2 were we not expecting the IC industry to evaporate? It is much more important these days and the companies are much more efficient at getting revenue to flow to the bottom line so perhaps a higher P/S bottom is reasonable?

What would YOU rather hold:

AMAT with a Price/sales of 3.4 with customers looking at 18% growth next year

or

Cisco with a price/sales of 4.6 and nobody sure where telecom (customers) will find money to buy more equipment?

easy choice for me (you don't see me posting on the Cisco thread.... if you wonder what I hold)

Gottfried, some different thoughts....

Don't try to predict the economy. Forget the overall stock market.
Concentrate on the company!" - Peter Lynch
