Compost is key. I generally use all the lawn clippings from the neighborhood. I use the tree stuff as mulch. I'll have to see if there is finer stuff that can be used as compost also. The soil is here is alkaline so it would be nice if I could find some oak or pine to acid things up a bit. I generally just add lots of Ironite each spring then hit them again around mid summer.
