Sorry. I am not a bushie. I am a dem. But that doesn't change anything there is no surplus. These guys play games with words and numbers that are unbelievable. Ask yourself this question, if we have a surplus, why does the national debt continue to rise??

We have no surplus and will have none. The alleged surplus was a projection based on economic good times continuing indefinitely. From your posts you obviously agree this is not going to happen. Your analysis is faulty, but you appear to be in agreement with my view that the economy is headed for trouble. Therefore no surplus, but they are spending like there will be. Result back to big deficits and stagflation. This mess could have been solved years ago. When the peace dividend was real it could have been applied to the National debt and we would be home free now. Next year all local governments and feds will be crying because tax receipts will be less than projected. Heads will roll as states will need to raise taxes and Washington will go back to big deficits.

Once again there is NO SURPLUS.
