Due to Cisco's contribution to the California state budget last year, it was strongly considered by the California State Senate to award Cisco naming rights for the city of San Francisco for the next 50 years (henceforth known as, "Cisco", and not "San Francisco")...

Given the spectacular crash in Cisco's stock, and the remote possibility of any great future revenue stream from the company, the city will be (going forward per resolution) known as "San Fran" <G>

thanks, very interesting. note, the comment re. CSCO highlights how vastly underestimated the effect of the tech bubble collapse on the economy at large still is.
