California grows more than half the nation's fruit, nuts and
vegetables

I think over 1/2 of them live there also:) Sorry I couldn't resist.

It's interesting that you folks would rank 48th in power used per capita. That surely wouldn't have been my guess since you must air condition 9 months out of the year. I've tried to tell several people who have made comments about to hell with CA and their electrical problems. We can't hardly let an economy the size of CA's drop off the cliff without having serious ramifications for the rest of us IMO.

That's pretty funny.

I will miss my pistachios(but I can live with my chestnuts). I have horded enough wine already to last me for the next 20-30 years(thank you bubble). You have made all our lives much much too soft, with your fres fruit in winter- who really deserves strawberries in Janurary? that's it for Oxnard. And what are you really going to do with all those migrant workers when you can't sell us your fresh produce any more? Crime rates going up up up up uppppp. To live in this town .....

When we lose power east of the Rockies, no one will be needing movies for entertainment. We'll be guarding our stashes and families when the sun goes down. Real question is Got enough guns and amo?

Sorry, it's early I don't really know where I was going with this. I just chugged too much coffee(Colombian) too fast and have this compultion to type.

I don't know who is to blame, I don't know how to apply first aid to the situation either. All I know is that my heating bill went up to over $300 this last month and Mrs. West is not all too happy about that as I told her not upping her allowance and if she remembers how to use a wash board and clothes line?

Yep, we're all just too soft and spoiled any more. And now we're farked

Those products are precisely why I asked my question. My concern is that production requires energy. What is there isn't enough production to satisfy even Californians? Or if Californians don't have production $$$ to buy what is available. . . .

Not to mention all of us out here in the hinterlands . . .<g>
