I think the numbers are useful for at least YoY comparisions....as long as the operator didnt make a change to their recognition of pre-paid users. My understanding is that each operator can set their own policy regarding when to drop a pre-paid subscriber who hasnt used his handset. Also...I think the relative number of adds does give a picture of the overall growth of the respective companies. The drop in Vodafone new subs isnt really surprising, since they have cut back on subsidies during the first quarter.

As to churn...my assumption is that handsets that are on monthly contracts are canceled. This would show up in the numbers.
