Plenty of wars have been started by lack of confrontation early on also. The really big ones seem to be generated by the appeasers.

True, but there is no evidence of aggression by the Chinese. We were over there, spying on them when this incident occurred. They are busy trying to move to a full market economy and acceptance by the WTO. If they had aggressive intent, it would have manifested itself a long time ago, with very different actions.

As Bush Sr. understood in 1989, isolating them from the world community would be disastrous. Hopefully big Bush will straighten his moron child out before he starts WWIII.

Comparing China to Germany in 1939 is absurd.
