I wouldn't discount ALL news but yes, most of it is already known through common sense or else it is nothing more than spin.

My favorite news story today was the NBCi being bought out by parent NBC. Now that was genious. Spin off NBCi in an IPO for 65+ then buy it back a year later for 2 bucks. How do I get in on this action. They may as well just shorted it out of the gate. It is the same thing. <ggg>
