I've noticed....not entirely unscientific.....that "pops" in the market....especially buying surges....usually happen around 2:00, 2:30, and 3:00 (+/- 5 minutes)....I once heard this months ago, and I always look for it....and I can't say that I record everyday's activity, but I'd say, more often than not, it comes in play...

I've read from some our better poster(s)- twice I think- that it is the funds that tend to buy at these times (on the clock), but I can't confirm it...

My own, perhaps unscientific theory....has been to watch the 1st 2 times (2:00, 2:30 PM)...if the buying doesn't come in there.....I tend to doubt the strength of buying rest of day....I've traded off this in the past....on days in which I am confident about my "feel" for the market..it has been right quite often...

BTW- The 2:30 PM pop today (which, I shouldn't have posted so early on before, I really should wait until 2:40 or so) was not overly impressive to me....I am "guessing" we see selling (more downside than up) rest of day....just a guess, though.
