Wayne: I have a hard time discussing even the most simple model on this thread -- and yes, the capital account is part of the equation. The discussion began with a question about the impact of oil prices on future growth of the economy and stock prices and I responded that the savings rate needs to be considered an issue as well. The question that comes back to me is why should we worry about having any savings? But thanks for pointing out the role of the capital account.
