Excellent post on the visibility code word. To smart money that has meant sell now ask questions later like you said. It allows them to sell out and have liquidity on the way out the door provided by the not so smart money that don't understand the true meaning of the code word. What do you think about companies selling at tangible book value though? These can't be that risky. They may stay flat for a long time or bounce up and down off the book value in some sort of trading range for a long time but at least I can make money off of those. Haven't checked any of the tangible book values of the semi stocks. Do you know of anything off hand trading near book value there?
