i hold four high yield stocks at the moment...UST, NLY, HCN and USU. i'm going to add to those, and hope to find others to increase my diversification (PCL may also make the grade actually). my main criterion for high yielding stocks to qualify for inclusion is the likelihood of the dividend being safe regardless of economic conditions. it is of course impossible to eliminate risk entirely, but the stocks in question are characterized by a low beta in addition to sporting very hefty dividend yields.
