re SAWS and QCom, S&P has this to say (in part)

The shares have fallen sharply following a new product introduction from Qualcom (QCOM) that reduces the need for SAWS filters. QCOM recently introduced radioOne, a new technology for CDMA transceivers that uses direct conversion architecture. Direct conversion converts RF signals to baseband without the need for a SAW IF filter. The technology is to be incorporated in CDMA20001X and WCDMA phones, with chip sampling toward the end of 2001. We have adopted a more conservative view of the stock until the impact of the new technology can be quantified, and recently downgraded the shares from accumulate to hold.

Use of SAWS as Q indicator might still work- WDIK?
