I would not put much faith into those meetings. I have been following this for a while now and those meetings occur pretty often. Seems like it's a normal activity.

Bill Berry...the Fed's de facto mouth piece....wrote an article for the Washington Post this weekend downplaying a surprise rate cut...

I'd say its a real long shot...the numbers Friday and next week would have to be atrocious, and the market falling off a cliff might help a little too....
