Mighty tame, KB, but then you do live out there on the politically correct coast. If a guy said something like that to me I'd just laugh. The dumb pickup lines never bothered me, it was the icky stuff with the nasty edge that did.

I think men don't actually expect to get anywhere acting like those guys in my examples, they do it to insult women. If most of the men I know could go under cover as a good looking twenty year old woman for a few weeks they would be totally appalled at how some men act towards women when no one is around to witness. I would tell some of these stories to men I know and they'd look at me like I was crazy, and I'd say you can't make up stuff like this. I only told you the relatively harmless examples. I could tell you some scary terrible ones, but what's the point? It is upsetting to everyone to hear those stories, women have a hard time talking about that stuff even among themselves. If you talk about rape or attempted rape to men, they think you are some kind of angry feminist trying to pin it on them. This is why so many of these guys go unpunished, nobody wants to talk about it.

I got mugged about 15 years ago. Just a straight mugging nothing else, roughed me up a bit and took my money. I remember people's reaction when I told them. Almost every single person asked me why was I out at that time of night by myself. Not one asked why were those three hoodlums out mugging women. You can't blame people for thinking that way, they always want to think that terrible stuff can be prevented, that it can't happen to them because they are careful. Even when people have heart attacks or get cancer people start asking what it was that the person did in their life that brought it on.

Here's a better line...

This one used to work for me back when I was single:

GUY: "Say, are you allergic to beef, potatoes and wine?"
GAL: " Why, no?"
GUY: "Great! then lets have dinner Saturday night!"

Clever, no sexual undertow, shows sensitivity to health issues. Flexible too. You can change "beef" to lentils if she's a vegetarian.
