morris, i view this from a different point of view. i missed most of the bubble except i made decent dough in the 1999-2000 bio bubble. nothing like split after split after split for 3 or 4 years, though. i went to cash then and watched the insanity in awe. i played puts for some time trying to slay this insane financial dragon, but i ended up throwing in the towel after burning some dough. it just grew and grew w/o regard to rationalism or logic. amazing.

my view is that every bubble GUARANTEES a bust. history has shown a 100% correlation. in this sense, alan.com created disaster by inflating the bubble (sure it felt good at the time, but so can excessive drinking for a moment - the pain of the hangover is guaranteed) in the first place.

you say you lost all you had. i hope you are talking about gains in the market and not hard earned money. history will probably show that those that are even before and after the bust will be lucky - however, painful the ride up and down...
