Those calculations are presuming that all NASDAQ stocks are fairly valued today, that their growth rate today which in many instances is negative won't improve during the next 8 years, etc.

While I don't expect to see NASDAQ 5000 this year or next, I do expect it in less than 5 years. i.e. We could easily have a bounce well past 2500 in less than a year; with normal NASDAQ growth, another 3 years or so would be required to close the remainder of the gap.
