"He suggests that more redemptions would have occurred if the Nasdaq's fall had been more gradual." There would have been more redemptions if more people knew they could move from stocks to cash without actually withdrawing retirement money. I kid you not! I have asked numerous clients over the last few months as to why they did not go to cash. 90% have said they could not without paying a penalty for early withdrawal of qualified funds. They do not realize there are cash reserve funds they can move into. Monty
