Yeah I know. I've had the same reaction over on the KLIC board at Yahoo many times this year.

I made close to 7 figs profit last year trading KLIC on the long side, by the way. The IRS will be very happy to get my mail in about a week. I'm not a permabear at all.

IMO: it really comes down to whether you think there will be a serious recession this year as a follow-on to the tech bust. Let's assume GDP goes significantly negative for say 3-4 quarters, starting in 2Q01. That might be a typical "non-wussy" recession, In that case, do you think I could then be right about buying AMAT at 15-17?

Please try to answer the hypothetical question. I've tried to understand why my view differs so much from other former semi equip bulls, and the best I can tell it's a disagreement over the macro-economic situation.
