Watch MSFT a break above 61 will be considered significant. More important then that is this from Beefing.com <<
European stocks march to a different beat, up sharply on the day. UK phone equipment maker Marconi leading the way, up almost 5% after the company said it expects 2001 operating profit to come in line with analysts' expectations. The company also announced that it will cut roughly 3K jobs. In a follow the herd mentality, Ericsson, the largest phone equipment maker, and Alcatel, a French equipment maker, both saw better buying interest. Sticking with the phone theme, the phone companies have fared well on the back of a decision by CSFB to upgrade the industry to "neutral" from "underweight". The move has helped Vodafone tack on roughly 4%, while Deutsche Telekom is up more than 5%. France Telecom and Royal KPN have also fared well. Domestic demand shares such as cyclicals and construction buoyed by expectations for an ECB rate cut tomorrow. >>

So are we seeing the light at the end of the tunnel in teleco land? Ray?????
