Interesting report nemer-

I have been struggling to get a balky dsl connection to work. In W2000, you can go to Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt to get into the command box you would otherwise have to access through Run. You can also get to it through Run by typing in CMD.

The question of what sequence to turn off box, modem etc is still a puzzle to me as is the release/renew sequnce, which so far hasn't worked as it is supposed to with my dsl.

For the record, I have spent over a month on the phone with Verizon dsl repair and Verizon isp tech support and have gotten zero results from them. They keep saying the problem "may" be in their central office, that they are going to send someone there to work on it, but nothing ever happens.

I get pretty angry at times, but am patiently working through it as I had a great dsl connection at a previous address and I really want to get it again. 56k does not figure into my plans for a power trading station.

best,

Rick
