raptor: Is there any logical reason for Dow to be above 10,000? More importantly, does either Rydex or ProFunds have a fund or way of shorting the Dow Index? If there was ever a sure thing, that would be it (IMHO).

Velo,

I was curious how you factor in major news (e.g., release of our guys by China) or analyst's sudden strange recommendations (buy the semis!). Can these ever totally invalidate the wave structure? Or just change its parameters amd timeframe? I assume that on a day like this, with the futures soaring preopen, that resistance points will be pushed through easily and we just look for the next resistance and support channels?
I guess my question is, despite the fact that EW might call for another big wave down, can this be completely invalidated by external factors?
(Apologies in advance if this is incoherent or really dumb.
I'm just trying to understand the mix of technical and emotional)
