mkc, i hope you are correct. however, i think respect means the us apologizes for something they don't believe they did. bush won't do this.

that leaves the chinese in the position of saying , "geee, guys, just kidding. we don't need an apology. you guys aren't that bad."

i don't see china doing that and maintaining respect.

in the meantime, they hold our detainees and the right wing spouts off on a regular basis making matters more difficult.
