HONG KONG S C&W SECURENET RENAMES ITSELF SECURENET ASIA 2001-04-11 Terms and Conditions SecureNet Asia Limited is to be the new name of Cable & Wireless HKT SecureNet Limited, the Hong Kong-based joint venture formed in 1999 between Australian information technology security provider SecureNet Limited and the former Cable & Wireless HKT. SecureNet Asia supplies data-security solutions to corporate and government organizations throughout Asia, designing, developing and installing complete security solutions for the Internet, remote banking, virtual private networks VPN and data-critical applications. SecureNet Asia Chief Executive Officer Geoffrey Ross said the new name reflects the company's growth in pan-Asian markets and acknowledges the recent addition of new partners to the venture. Partners joining the venture in the past year were the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited and Pacific Century CyberWorks, which merged with Cable & Wireless HKT last August. "The new name and corporate image will help consolidate the SecureNet identity as a known and trusted brand as it expands into global markets," Mr. Ross said in a statement.
