Skeeter -- the US has known this for a while, I think.
It just started being reported yesterday or the day before. But u can at least understand why Bush ain't giving on this one ...

I picked that up off CNN -- they might cite the source there

most likely the information of the altitude loss came from the altiude encoded transponder and picked up from some radar installation

considering 80-90% of the trade with China is exports by them, all this jawboning about great China business is BS. it's a nice carrot that will always stick out there but they'll import some of what they need and import technology only to assimilate (copy) for military and export use.
