"I understand that Brinkerbot refers to those extremists who have a Yahoo club with its own Brinkerbot logo. If they refer to themselves as bots, I don't think it's derogatory unless they're insane which is always a possibility." I have heard that African Americans may use the "N" word as a term of endearment between friends. That doesn't mean you can count on it being OK for other people to use it. And I am quite sure that "bots" is not a term of endearment when you use it.
