"Motorola (MOT) 13.00 +1.50: Some confusion over MOT's numbers, as company changed its reporting method at the last minute... Reported loss of $0.09 excludes goodwill, whereas company used to report results including goodwill... Our checks indicate that consensus estimate of ($0.07) included goodwill... Sources telling us that if goodwill charges put back into the MOT number, quarterly loss would be more like ($0.13) or ($0.14)..."

Why would you amortize goodwill if you are at a loss?
There are NO EARNINGS!
Goodwill is amortized against earnings.

In any case, report was lousy as expected. I think it goes lower but stays in double digits.
Good opportunity to buy Nokia off this...hopefully it sells off in the morning. Somehow I doubt it.
Any weakness in Nokia and possibly even Ericson is a great buying opportunity, IMHO.
Nokia rules this business.
