You guys going on heavy margin to do the dip buying? I have seen you calling bottoms from nasdaq 3500 on the Rande thread which seems to have almost died, not sure why, but I must assume many lost their asses over there. I have to say that was an impressive move on the nasdaq but after all that work it still sits at a measly 1852. Plenty of time left to hop the train if it really is headed northward IMO. I am happy riding the waves with a laddered option strategy on SPX & OEX calls & puts, screw the individual stocks you never know when they will turn around and bite you.

Some folks assume that the mkt won't take advantage of the new prices<gg.I made a stand/long 24 % ago.The rallies will be fast and hard until there is no value again. Even the moron J Crammer went long<gg>. Now is a a good time for shorts to help longs when they cover&cover&cover.. The big hedge funds probably will jump out as quick as they jumped in. Do I cover ..nope double my short...what's going on ? What happen !!!!!
The herd will go long and the world will turn. I say we had the greatest buying opp in history. I will not be scared to "ever" sell again but not now. I was lucky and caught..Amcc..Ntap..Newp..ITOW< :) < BEAS> :)Sndk all but Newp/Amcc at bottom and they were close enuf. I needed a break.
Good Luck to all on this thread. I hv found it a very interesting place and the people are pretty cool...esp
$Mars.

Shorting days are just about finished.

American Spirit, are you talking long term or just through this little bit of a short quarter earnings rally? ggg

If long term, it will be a long, hot, dry summer for longs. "The summer of your discontent". With volume a pittance of what it is now.

As a value investor, my strategy is to buy long term during the dog days of summer. If insiders are reluctant to step up to the plate and buy at that time, I will postpone till October. After all, if they don't want to own their bloody stocks, than why should I?

Till that time, I will short into any and all rallies. Shorts still have the upper hand. Time and the overall economy is on our side.

Shorting days are never finished my man. Trust me, I am on my knees at night praying that we get a return of the 1999 bull market. I made twice as much shorting in that year as I did in 2000. I'm sure other short-sellers feel the same way. I miss the CPIH's of the world, running from 1 to 80 in two days.
