ISO: How did you do today? Thanks for the post on MOT. Same as usual for cooking the books crowd,EH? When they don't include goodwill, taxes, etc. The main things I've seen lately is the old trick from way back of changing the allowances for depreciation and periods for treating amortization. Sometimes depreciation is way off from what is an industry norm. That is what concerns me when I consider the lease/buyback deals I have seen lately, the depreciation gets thrown out the window and you can't trace what happened to it. Improper value assigned to depreciation can result in either an undervaluation or a possible overvaluation of certain corps. Funny you don't hear more about this stuff. Guess it is not funny two years from now when someone wonders why their stock cert is worthless.

On a more positive note: Forget Raytheon for a while, it might not ever drop. Picked up bucks on trades today:

Bot Mon. close: ABB , DD, RYCEY
Bot last Thurs: RIG ATW OXY PKD PDE
Sold Mon.: ATW(close) PDE(early)
BOT Today: More RIG, GG
Sold today at DOW1000: ABB RIG DD OXY PKD
Holding from last few weeks and months: AEM GOLD GG HGMCY HM
Felt so uneasy staying with em. Just got out. Seems like the street wastes considerable amounts other peoples money telling the fed it wants rates cut. Don't want to be in that crowd. I like intraday trades here. Have some/little bit RYCEY. 60%cash, 33%PM's.

Suffice it to say my entry positions are lousy and so you can laugh, but at least I bot in and feel better for it. It is so unnatural (for me) to buy "bottoms", I still need to learn how to do it better. Seems like I can get my goals all screwed up all too easy/often, looking for downtrodden and not seeing the "steak right under my nose".

No silver. What is your thinking on silver? Wish Slider would go on topic of why he looks to silver, if any more news on when/how much is a Treasury buy coming to market.

(Rolls-Royce not overpriced, has a shot at greatness in my opinion. The Trent may not be a GE or BA product, but Rolls will sell alot of them, I hope). Note; Lately have bot/sold WGOV, FWC, ALS, NNS. Wish someone could add what they know about the nuke subs and how much retrofits will pad pockets of NNS and GD, wish I knew.

What you have for holds long/short now? Catch you soon.

\Regards;
Rails
(I'll use regards this time but sincerely hope all on this thread know I give best wishes to em all)

>> Why...I'm shocked...shocked I say! Hey JimL! Aren't MOT (and other corps doing this) run by "overpaid slime" too. Let's be fair(g). "Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander". <<

Yes many are, but remember everytime you write something Iso, you just affirm my position.
