I dont agree with you but then i have two sons who i worked with in groups who tried to give to others. So this was my choice,
In those groups a kick in the ass was far less affective than communication. There being a male was more teaching males to work with each other and the kick in the ass bit well was play as to who got shoved into the pool first.

I am sorry your childhood was so miserable mine was too but i wanted better for my kids.

Women who are successful in the world learn these things as well. That you have to fight your own battles and there is no one to call. Believe me, in the 25 years I've run a business by myself there were plenty of times I wished I had someone to call. I learned to fix my own machines and deal with what ever problems or challenges came my way. I had mentors along the way, but nobody bailed me out, ever, nor would I have had it any other way.

After a while you learn, like baseball, there's no crying in business.

Lesson number one about being a male is that other males are going to knock you down, kick your ass, step on your face, spit in your mouth, and laugh their guts out about it. Men take this for granted, this is the first thing you learn in life.

Ah fond remembrances of childhood - I'm almost misty eyed. We used to play a game where you had to run through a "zone" as the other kids threw darts at you from across the street. I remember one kid got stuck in the arm pretty good (most of the time the darts just bounced off our deliberately heavy clothing) and we all rolled on the ground laughing, including the "stuck" kid.
