This may help you get to the boot menu. Once there, you can choose Windows Safe Mode. Look at the MSDOS.SYS stuff and ignore the rest of the post.

On my system, Windows Help, Index tab, and typing SAFE will bring help on safe mode. It's located between RUNNING TOOLS and SAMPLER CD.
