RON,

Rural Republicans in the west tend to be very pro-development. They view the wide open spaces as unlimited, and as a potential source of profit.

City dwellers generally are not that naive, as they have seen what over-development can do, and they recognize the fact that it is all going to be gone in the blink of an eye.

No need to get hostile about things you do not understand. Next time you talk to George W. Bush, ask him about about Sugar's. ;^)
