Hi NightOwl; The only reason Intel would cancel their agreement with Rambus is so that they can start making DDR chipsets. Intel may have already gotten Rambus to change their agreement so as to allow Intel to do that already. But there is no reason for Intel to do that before they have their DDR chipset(s) ready to ship.

As far as anyone buying out RMBS, I think the odds are slim to none, except perhaps at a much lower price.

Micron is led by an old street fighter, my guess is that you are right, they will pursue Rambus for fraud even after the SDRAM and DDR royalties are history.

I would guess that Rambus will continue on with the other lawsuits even after they lose the Infineon case, and that they won't make an agreement with Infineon to not appeal the lawsuit. The company is basically a stock fraud, and as long as there is anyway of justifying an eventual win, Rambus will continue to fight. As long as management still has stock to sell, Rambus will continue to claim royalties on SDRAM, this despite any offer from Infineon to forego the RICO charges.
