lorne, are you posting that in reference to the titaniums? The only two left I follow are TIE and RTI, and they haven't had to consolidate/merge for their shares to start rising off their bottoms again. Gold is obviously another story -g-. And the titaniums also took a hell of a plunge but at least bounced every half a year or so. I guess Gold is to damn heavy to even bounce once -g-. (then again Xau 90 in '99 wasn't too shabby - index useless for some time now)

Regarding the dot.com reference, I thought one probable outcome of the dot.com mania was that they'd use their outrageous market caps to each buy a cheap gold company with their at-the-time valuable stock for balance when their stocks became not so valuable. Guess it's too late for the dot.coms. Gates did by a chunk of PAAS at the time...
