China Stands Firm on Full Apology from the U.S. - (KBWB, San Francisco)

By Andrew Browne

BEIJING (Reuters) - China agreed on Wednesday to release all 24 crew of a U.S. spy plane after Washington said it was ''very sorry'' for the aircraft's entry into Chinese airspace and for the death of a Chinese pilot.

The apology was contained in a letter handed to Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan by U.S. ambassador Joseph Prueher.
