His brilliant call on the semi sector last year was also too difficult to digest. Every analyst on the street came out and opposed him. Time will tell if he called it right again.

JRI.. follow this thread a bit.. Shorted a couple of times yesterday and got stopped out.. Our opinions make us press for what is not there.. yet.. All we need is for a few of these to remain below their open for the first 20 mins and the shorts should be fine.. Tempted to short the open on these massive chip gaps though.. GSPN my favorite.. JNPR also very tempting but it has mind of it's own when it goes.. should be a slam-dunk short if it sniffs 49 (probably will) as it will tank on their report.. the report itself won't matter..

Not a very impressive start in the INDU and SPX, given where the futures were trading. INDU can't stay above 10,150, which is just the first of a few potential lower diamond boundaries, the highest of which is at about 10,600. 10,000 was psychological; 10,150 is where the real resistance begins.

I wouldn't ignore Joseph's call, but Bank of America caling a bottom in CapEx spending? Puhleeze! When the mass of analysts start calling a bottom, I keep one hand on my wallet. This rally is all tech today; not likely to last if the Dow can't catch up.

That said, I've got a few longs, so I'm not exactly going to cry if this keeps going for a while. ;-)

JRI...AG saved my butts...

Fortunately, I bought calls to cover my short position due to the shadow of another rate cut overnight. I just unload them and reload with CIEN puts.
