I think that the handwriting was on the wall. The Chicoms did not want to embolden the American public further by keeping this going through the Easter weekend. In the end, it matters not what the Chinese public believes about what happened here. It only matters what the rest of the World believes, and the Chinese government is very aware that the World understands that no apology was made by the US, nor was one appropriate. ~SB~
