In the primate world (of which humans belong) it was widely accepted that the Alpha males were the only ones that had access to females which of course meant that all offspring contained their genes. Actually the behavior patterns among different primates are diverse (I watch a lot of nature shows on my AT&T digital cable). I can't remember the species, but the males and females of the primate group that humans most closely resemble in behavior freely copulate without regard to status. The way the males compete for transferring their genes into the next generation is to deposit more sperm per ejaculate. There are a few other channels on my digital cable which demonstrate this in humans quite clearly.

Mothers want their children to live, their children are far more important to them then their mates. Yes, to the exclusion of other mother's babies. It is this fact that would have destroyed the world in the 20th century had the leaders of the two major nuclear super powers been women. When researchers started doing sophisticated DNA testing they found that the Beta males were fathering quite a few of those babies. Because the babies tended to be less aggressive they had a better chance of not being killed before they could grow up. In their obsession with what is their's, the mothers perpetuate weakness. What do the women see in their children but themselves? The weakness is seen in the queer world we have. The ape world never evolved beyond where they are now. You have something like that in West LA where mothers are trying to do lots of good with lots of programs.
