There are others who would argue that trade causes conflict.(Ken Waltz) ...What are the odds of China getting into a fight with Peru.... Others, Copeland comes to mind, argue that conflict comes from reduced expectations of future trade. When Nations see the resources that they need getting cut off, they take action...(Japan, WWII) If you look at WW1, all of that trade didn't do a thing for Europe.

I do Believe that Trade can subvert Communism, since control is the watchword of that form of government. But I don't believe that increased trade will do away with the potential for future conflict.
