Thanks for the reply. My point is this. I have seen on CNBC where they are reporting on "rumors from the trading floor" Therefore, they were spread from the trading floor to CNBC.

My point is that on the "trading floor" rumors are being spread. Therefore, the "trading floor" that developed that rumor must be found and held accountable for that rumor.

What's stopping a trader from shorting Company XXX and then spreading a rumor that they are going to be light on their earnings?
