His lame-ass excuse was that he wanted to get the expectations, estimates down to the proper level before turning the corner on them....

B-lls-t ! The stocks were 15% higher now than 2 days ago....why didn't he just go ahead and do it 2 days ago? (with the Soxx at 460).. That would have made (more) sense....

Reaks of something....when he was giving the explanation on CNBS, he had a little smile on his face, as if he was saying "I don't really believe this, but I'm spoutin' the company line".....

If you don't want an analyst to change their call, tell that to companies that lowered their forecast 3 times between the quarter like Gateway last Q.

JNPR downgrade was based on valuation rise from upgrade 4 days ago from 31 to 46. Stock rises 50% in a week, why can't they change the call?

As far as SSB/Joseph changing calls in a week, it's odd, that's all.

BTW, no one believe his call in July, it just dropped on that day, and rallied back the next day and a few weeks later started turning down lower.

My guess here is the SOX will head lower again soon and bottom in the next few months (july, as he initially stated).
