"...what is wrong with a National Organization for Women?" It's wrong because it further entrenches you poor gals into us and them positions. We're all in the same boat. You need real role models like Ayn Rand or better newadvent.org

Another special interest group to convince more women that you are perpetual victims and to chirp we demand, we demand should be beneath the dignity of any free thinking person.

So you don't like them. Don't support them.

I proudly call myself a feminist. I don't like how they're adulterating that label. And I don't support NOW any more. For the same reason that I don't invest in software companies that also have bakery, hair care, and gold mining divisions.

And what is wrong with a National Organization for Women?

It perpetuates the concept that there are womens issues instead of human issues. It divides.

And it validates the concept that men and women can and should be treated differently solely on the basis of gender.

Coming together around issues, around concepts, around principles is good. Maybe some groups will have more women than men, some more men that women.

But coming together around race, or gender, or such simply validates the concept that people can and should be treated differently because of their race or gender.

That's what we were fighting in the 60s to overcome. Look at a person as a person, not as a white or black or man or woman.

It's going backwards, not forwards.

That's what's wrong with it.
