Tomorrow's economic data include some market movers. Retail sales is released at 08:30 ET along with the producer price index. Wholesale prices aren't much of a worry given the sectoral recession in manufacturing, the tough global price competition and the run off of year ago gains which should turn January's decade high 4.8% annual growth rate to just 3.3% in March. Retail sales could swing either way from the flat growth expected. A back to back decline (after Feb's) would confirm a consumer pullback after the discount-generated surge in January as the economic weakness, lost equity wealth and confidence plunge present a real risk to consumers' second quarter appetite. Michigan's consumer sentiment index, released at 10:00 ET, provides a preliminary read for April. Market expectation is for a decline after the March rise with a fall below Feb's 90.6 level suggesting that the bottom hasn't been seen yet.
