The end of your message belies the body.

You end with:

We all benefit when we are all
safe and have opportunity.

Which I agree with totally.

That's exactly why no issue should be viewed as a womens issue, or a black issue, or a jewish issue.

If we look at the decy of the inner cities as a black problem, for example, that makes it easy for whites to say "well, it's not our problem, let them deal with it." But in truth it's everybody's problem. When any group attacks a Jewish synogague it's all our problems. (If the German people had recognized this in the 1930s, we might have avoided WW II.)

As a father of two young women, violence against women is VERY MUCH my problem. But when you make it a women's issue, when you say it should be an issue for NOW, not for NOP (National Organization of People), you say to me get away from this issue, you have nothing to contribute to its solution. That's shortsighted, dumb, and cruel all at once.

I wish you would recognize that since it is true that we all benefit when we are all safe and have opportunity, assuring safety and opportunity is a human issue, not a womens issue, and making it a womens issue suggests you either don't believe I will benefit from it, or believe that I am too stupid to recognize that I will benefit from it. Neither one is helpful toward addressing and solving the problems.
